Conduct Contractor’s operations in compliance with Federal, State, and localsafety and health laws, regulations, codes, and standards.4. Coordinate Contractor safety and health program with other entities involved insite operation ensuring compliance with appropriate SSHPs.C. Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO):1. Officially designated by the project director and approved by Reclamation foreach hazardous waste operation.2. Principal developer of the SSHP for each site to which the SSHO is assigned.3. Has authority and knowledge necessary to develop and implement the entire sitesafety and health program and verify compliance with applicable safety andhealth requirements.4. Has necessary knowledge and background to conduct a comprehensivemonitoring program which will establish relevant data on which to assessemployee exposures and adequacy of personal protective equipment andprocedures.5. Certified industrial hygienist (CIH) or work under the oversight of a CIH.6. Minimum of 2 years of experience overseeing excavation, transportation, anddisposal of hazardous and solid waste for the purposes of site safety and health.D. Site Manager:1. Contractor employee designated by project director as site manager for eachhazardous wastesite operation.2. Onsite during operations.3. Ensure that onsite operations are conducted in accordance with the site-specificsafety and health plan and applicable Federal, State, and local safety and health,regulations, codes, and standards.4. Has knowledge and authority to direct onsite operations to minimize workplaceexposures.5. If the Contractor's SSHO will not always be present when personnel are workingon hazardous wastesite or the site manager is also assigned SSHO duties, the sitemanager shall meet the same training requirements as those listed for the SSHO.1.08 TRAININGA. Contractor personnel involved with a designated hazardous wastesite shall havecompleted training satisfying the requirements of 29 CFR 19<strong>10</strong>.120 and this paragraph.B.
