Logs of borings and other soil and water-level data are included in Section 53 10 00 -Geologic Investigations and Section 53 20 00 - Records of Geologic and SubsurfaceInvestigations. Gather any additional data necessary to properly design the dewateringsystems, at no additional cost to the Government.C. Construction shall not compromise the ability of Red Bluff Diversion Dam (RBDD) andexisting dikes and levees to pass Sacramento River flood flows within the existing floodchannel limit for the same storm frequency and flow.3.02 COFFERDAMS FOR FISH SCREEN AND WORK IN SACRAMENTO RIVERA. Cofferdam and shoring shall protect the work from flooding by water in the SacramentoRiver and Red Bank Creek and by indirect groundwater pressure from the SacramentoRiver.B. Coordinate location of cofferdam bracing with pier wall top slab construction.4. Maintain cofferdam until removal is directed by COTR.C. Monitoring:1. Monitor and submit river stage, cofferdam deflection, leakage and underseepagedata in accordance with the approved plan.2. Daily leakage shall be measured separately through interlocks and coming up intobottom of excavation. Leakage measurements shall be for each 300 feet ofcofferdam length.3. Cofferdam design engineer shall review monitoring data, perform monthlycofferdam inspection, and submit a monthly inspection report to identify the needfor maintenance, repairs or changes in operations.4. Cooperate with monitoring and inspection of marine work by permit agencyrepresentatives.5. When monitoring by the Contractor, or other conditions disclose inadequatecofferdam system performance, the Contractor shall supplement, revise, orchange the system as required to comply with these specifications.D. Repairs:1. Repair damage to the work resulting from all causes including negligence,improper installation or maintenance of cofferdam.2. Repair damage to existing structures, channels, roads, and other features causedby failure to maintain cofferdam.3. Perform repairs at no expense to Government.E. Removal of Cofferdam:1. Remove cofferdam after obtaining approval of the COTR. Cut sheet piles atelevations shown. Where sheet piles are shown to be left in place remove sharpedges and create smooth transitions.2. Dispose of earth materials in accordance with Section 31 23 90 - Disposal ofExcavated Materials.3. Remove non-earth materials from worksite.4. Repair damage to concrete or other permanent structures in accordance withUSBR M-47.a.
