It is our hope that each chapter has budgeted to send one ormore members to convention. Otherwise, chapter members attend at their own expense. (Every collegiate chapter mustsend one chapter delegate. Otherwise, HC members arestrongly encouraged to attend at their own expense.Alumna Attendees:All <strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong> alumnae are welcome to enjoy the grandeur of convention as well as the amenities of the SheratonBoston Hotel at their own expense.Non-KD Guests:Family and/or friends of <strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong>s are welcome to attend any scheduled meal function by paying the amountspecified for the meal on the part-time registration form. All programming, beginning with the collegiate divisional meet andgreet, is REQUIRED for collegiate chapter delegates. The opening session is at 8 p.m. Thursday. Full-time attendees canpick up their registration packets on Thursday any time between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.Please note: Dinner on Thursday night is on your own and is NOT provided as part of convention. If you share a room with others, this amount wouldbe divided among the roommates.CREDIT CARD REQUIRED: Per hotel policy, a deposit of one night’s room fee and tax will be charged at the time thereservation is made. At check-in, the hotel will authorize the credit card that you present for the full amount of your stayand will apply the deposit to your bill. These authorizations are applied to your credit limit until checkout.In addition, the hotel will require a major credit card for incidental charges (room service, hotel restaurants, Starbucks,gift shop, or any other personal items charged to your room). The hotel will authorize a hold of $50 per day on the cardto ensure sufficient funds. This means if you are staying four nights then the hotel will authorize $200 on your creditcard when you check-in. The hotel will release this hold at checkout and charge the actual amount of your incidentalexpenses to your card at that time.Make sure the credit card you give to the hotel has enough funds available to cover all of these charge holds andexpenses.It is recommended you do NOT use a debit card for check-in. The above hold policy means that these funds will befrozen in your bank account and you will have no access to your money until 3 to 5 days after checkout.Check-in time is 3 p.m.; Check-out time is 12 noon EST.

Travel Leaders, <strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong>’s officialtravel management company, has secured discounted airfare on <strong>Delta</strong> and American Airlines. The valet offers to take oversize vehicles on a space available basis; the rate foroversized vehicles is $88 per night.Guests can also park at the Prudential Center Garage for $39 for each 24 hour period. Please note that payment for thisparking is separate from the hotel, and you will be expected to pay each time you exit the garage.Shuttle<strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong> <strong>Sorority</strong> has selected Go Boston Shuttle to provide airport transportation at a group discount. The fun afternoon outing includes the ticket to the game andcost of transportation to the ballpark. Lunch is not included and is the responsibility of the attendee. You will need tobring money for lunch/snacks while at the baseball game.


Focus GroupYou can shape the future of KD! <strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong> <strong>Sorority</strong> continues to review our collegiate and alumnae programs and toassess their relevance. In an effort to evaluate and improve the membership experience, we will be conducting a seriesof focus groups with collegiate and alumnae members at convention this year. We'd like to hear about your experience.If you are interested in participating in a collegiate or alumnae focus group - scheduled for Thursday, June 27, at 3:00p.m. - please sign up on the convention registration form. Based on interest, we may not be able toaccommodate everyone. You will be notified by May 1. Please make travel arrangements to arrive in time to participate,if selected.KD ChorusThe KD Chorus will perform at select meals and during business sessions under the leadership of <strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong>’s nationaldirector of music. This is a great opportunity to learn new songs you may not be familiar with and to sing old favorites.Music will include Ritual songs and recruitment chants. The chorus will practice at various times at convention prior toperforming. Practice times will not conflict with convention sessions. You do not have to be a talented singer to join thechorus. Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to join. Sign-up is available on the online registration form.<strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong> Foundation White Rose GardenThe <strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong> Foundation White Rose Garden will return to <strong>National</strong> <strong>Convention</strong> in Boston! At convention, membershave the opportunity to purchase white rose paper cutouts for anyone, present or not. Recipients’ and donors’ nameswill be displayed on the large white roses for all convention attendees to see. Imagine thousands of white roses as thebackdrop for convention!To purchase a white rose, you may order in advance or visit the white rose table while at convention. Advance ordersmay be submitted by completing the White Rose Garden form in your registration confirmation packet and returning italong with payment to the <strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong> Foundation or you may go to the <strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong> Foundation’s website to prepurchaseroses.White roses may be purchased for $5, $25 or $100 each. The $100 roses will be displayed prominently on columnsoutside convention hall. Each recipient will receive a notification card to let her know a friend has purchased a whiterose in her honor. Roses will be mailed to the recipients following convention. Your purchase supports the foundation’sever-growing philanthropic, educational and leadership initiatives.In the spirit of fun, there will be a competition between all collegiate divisions for the dollar amount of white rosespurchased. Chapters may pre-purchase white roses for convention and are encouraged to recruit CAB members and ACsto help their division win. Remember, you may purchase a <strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong> Foundation white rose to honor anyone: mother,sister, friend, advisor, dad, brother, ANYONE! Alumnae (except NLT) may help their chapter’s division win by designatingtheir white rose purchases toward that division. They can simply indicate on the form, or in person at convention, whichdivision they want their purchases to benefit. May the most giving division win!What to WearPlease wear a sundress/dress or pants outfit to the opening session. You may want to travel in what you are planning towear if your flight does not allow enough time to change once you arrive at the hotel.At business sessions, white dresses or nice white pants/tops and white shoes must be worn by all voting delegates.<strong>Kappa</strong> <strong>Delta</strong> non-delegates do not have to wear white, but should wear appropriate daytime attire.Dresses, business pants, capris, skirts and blouses, jackets and sweaters are appropriate for all general and breakoutsessions. Jeans, extremely short skirts and shorts, cropped tops or other revealing clothing are never suitable. Hotelmeeting rooms can be chilly so pack a sweater or light jacket.


More casual attire is acceptable for the Red Sox baseball game on Sunday afternoon. Nice shorts of an appropriatelength are acceptable. All shorts and skirts must meet the finger tip rule which means the hem must touch or fallbelow the tips of your fingers.You should wear cocktail attire to the Awards Banquet on Saturday night. Formal attire is to be worn to the White RoseBanquet on Sunday night.Important Deadlines: Registration information submitted online to <strong>National</strong> Headquarters to obtain early bird rate is April 15, <strong>2013</strong>. All delegates are REQUIRED to register by April 15, <strong>2013</strong>. Hotel reservations for non-chapter delegates should be made no later than May 15, <strong>2013</strong>.
