Chapter 3: Description of EnvironmentThis chapter should cover baseline data in the project area <strong>and</strong> study area.Chapter 4: Impact Analysis <strong>and</strong> Mitigation MeasuresThis chapter describes the anticipated impact on the environment <strong>and</strong> mitigation measures. Themethod of assessment of impact including studies carried out, modelling techniques adopted toassess the impact where pertinent should be elaborated in this chapter. It should give the detailsof the impact on the baseline parameters, both during the <strong>construction</strong> <strong>and</strong> operational phases<strong>and</strong> suggests the mitigation measures to be implemented by the proponent.Chapter 5: Analysis of Alternatives (Technology <strong>and</strong> Site)This chapter includes the options, details of the alternatives of materials that are to be used inbuilding <strong>construction</strong> <strong>and</strong> the energy conservation methods to be adopted. The various detailsregarding the transportation sector, road connectivity, link facilities, parking details etc. are to bediscussed in this chapter.Chapter 6: <strong>Environmental</strong> Monitoring ProgramThis chapter should cover the planned environmental monitoring program. It should also includethe technical aspects of monitoring the effectiveness of mitigation measures.Chapter 7: Additional StudiesThis chapter should cover the details of the additional studies required in addition to thosespecified in the ToR <strong>and</strong> which are necessary to cater to more specific issues applicable to theparticular project.Chapter 8: Project BenefitsThis chapter should cover the benefits accruing to the locality, neighbourhood, region <strong>and</strong> nationas a whole. It should bring out details of benefits by way of improvements in the physicalinfrastructure, social infrastructure, employment potential <strong>and</strong> other tangible benefits.Chapter 9: <strong>Environmental</strong> Management PlanThis chapter should comprehensively present the <strong>Environmental</strong> Management Plan (EMP), whichincludes the administrative <strong>and</strong> technical setup, summary matrix of EMP, the cost involved toimplement the EMP, both during the <strong>construction</strong> <strong>and</strong> operational phase <strong>and</strong> provisions madetowards the same in the cost estimates of project <strong>construction</strong> <strong>and</strong> operation. This chapter shouldalso describe the proposed post-monitoring scheme as well as inter-organizational arrangementsfor effective implementation of the mitigation measures.Chapter 10: Summary <strong>and</strong> ConclusionsThis chapter gives the summary of the full EIA report condensed to ten A-4 size pages at themaximum.
