Literacy and numeracy skills canhowever be assessed at interview stage forapplicants without GCSEs. You must alsobe employed in the industry of your chosensubject. If you are not currently employed inthe industry, we will be able to work with youto find an employer whilst you are workingtowards some elements of yourapprenticeship.What qualification willI receive?Level 2 Diploma in Maintenance Operations,NVQ2 Maintenance Operations andFunctional Skills qualifications in English,Maths and ICT.What will I study?The qualification is designed for youngpeople who are interested in learningconstruction maintenance skills. You willdevelop a broad understanding of theconstruction industry including workplacesafety, providing customer service, movingand handling resources as well asdemonstrating practical skills in three tradeareas for example: Painting & Decorating,Carpentry & Joinery and Plumbing.How will I be assessed?Each qualification within the apprenticeshipframework is assessed throughongoing demonstration of your practicalskills and theory assessments. Some unitsof the qualification require an online externalassessment. Functional Skills courses areassessed by a final written examination.Further training opportunities?After successful completion of the courseyou can progress to a higher levelapprenticeship at Level 3.How much will it cost?For 16-18 year old students,apprenticeships are fully funded. For 19+students, an employer contribution isrequired.WHEREWHOProspects College, Southend orBasildon.Able and motivated 16-24 year olds,employed in the construction industryand capable of completing anapprenticeship at Level 2.WHEN21 months (on day release basis).30
