We are a moderncollege, very much in touch with currentindustry trends, in order to meet constantlyevolving employer demands in theatre, TV andfilm. The inspection reportstated ‘The standard of the students workis very high in virtually all disciplines butparticularly in jazz, singing and musical theatreskills. This approach is reinforced inthe selection of the teaching faculty, whohave extensive experience as performersat the top of their field, with excellent skillsin communicating their specific subject.LOCATIONCambridge Performing Arts College isuniquely situated, close to the main railwaystation and half a mile from the city centre.Being close to London (45 mins. by train)many of our full time staff and guest teachersare able to commute, keeping pace withthe changes in the professional world.VOCATIONAL COURSESOFFERED – PERFORMINGThe college offers level 6 qualificationcourses validated by Trinity College London.The National Diploma in Professional MusicalTheatre and National Diploma in ProfessionalDance. On the National Diploma coursesstudents study a wide range of subjectsincluding ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap,singing and acting. The course is progressiveover three years to produce a well informed,rounded performer. The courses areaccredited by the Council for DanceEducation and Training.COURSES OFFERED – OTHERWe run one of the most well establishedfoundation courses in the country.This course is designed for students whoare either late starters, or who wish toadd dance to existing skills such as actingor singing. From September 2009 this willbe validated by Trinity College, Londonas a level 3 qualificationThere is a one year intensive course,designed for students with previoustraining (e.g. university course) who wishto develop a new discipline or to add theprofessional polish in order to pursue aperforming career.There are a number of short coursesthroughout the year including Easterand summer intensives in ballet, jazz andcontemporary dance.
