English National Ballet School providesballet training for 16-19 year olds, enablinggraduates to achieve a level of artistry andtechnique required by English National Balletand other international classical balletcompanies. We pride ourselves in providingstudents, from diverse backgrounds, with thenecessary broad skills and knowledge todevelop as versatile dancers, so that they areable to meet the demands of the changingenvironment of professional dance.LOCATIONThe School occupies a traditional Victorianbuilding in Chelsea, south-west London.At present, we regret that the School premisesare not easily accessible as they can only bereached by stairs. VOCATIONAL COURSESOFFERED – PERFORMINGAs an international centre for excellencein dance training we recognise that today’sperformers need to be versatile. Our curriculumencompasses high quality training in Balletand a range of Contemporary Dance styles.Students also receive a good all roundeducation through a unique course ofprofessional and academic study whichfocuses on creative and artistic development.The School offers a rich and stimulatingcurriculum taught by highly experiencedteachers and guest artists of internationalrenown. The training develops artistry,musicality and performance quality,underpinned by clean, strong technique.The experience of working to professionalstandards with leading choreographers anddirectors ensures that students can respondcreatively and confidently to differentworking environments.Students experience life with a professionaldance company through the professionalpreparation programme. In 2009-2010students selected by English National Ballet,and other UK based companies, have had theopportunity to perform in The Nutcracker,The Snow Queen, Cinderella and Swan Lake.Our three year full-time National Diplomain Professional Dance course and one yearGraduate Course give our students theopportunity to become trained professionaldancers, having acquired the necessarylife skills for long and successful careers.Our graduates are to be found in topcompanies throughout the world, mostnotably in English National Ballet.COURSES OFFERED – OTHERAudition Workshop This one day course willexplain what staff look for at an audition,how students can prepare for the day, andoffers the experience of an ‘audition’ class.Spring Course This three day course givesstudents the opportunity to experienceBallet, Contemporary and repertoire classesand learn about full-time training at EnglishNational Ballet School.Summer Course This one or two week courseis designed to develop students’ classicaltechnique, learn Classical Ballet repertoire,explore and develop their choreographictalent and give them the experience ofcreating new work with choreographers.HOW TO APPLYThe School is proud of its commitment toequal opportunities; successful applicantsare chosen because of their aptitude andpotential for professional careers in dance.Application forms and further informationis available on our website, email:info@enbschool.org.uk or telephone020 7376 7076.RECOMMENDATION BY A GRADUATE“I feel I am not only prepared for aprofessional life as a dancer, but also forlife.
