2008, the studios are two minutes walk fromboth Lime Street station and the NationalExpress coach station. Nine studios overfour floors with dedicated IT resource room,singing studios and gym. Disabled accessis available to the ground floor.VOCATIONAL COURSES OFFEREDSuccessfully integrating intensive performancetraining with internationally recognisedqualifications opens the door to a futureperformance or dance teaching career.Accredited by the CDET the courses on offerprovide a solid foundation in dance, singingand musical theatre. Opportunities to performpublicly are available throughout the threeyear programme. Adapting to each studentsunique talents and abilities, training at MDDCis flexible allowing for dual study of both thedance teaching and musical theatre courses.Many students graduate with a DoubleDiploma having gained the qualificationsnecessary to achieve credits for both courses.Accredited Prior Learning is also takeninto consideration.Performance & Teaching in Dance (3 years)Three year study of all dance genres, singingand acting to achieve ISTD qualifications FDIand CDE allowing graduating students toembark on either a performing or teachingcareer. Dance Genres: Classical Ballet,Modern Theatre, Tap, National, Jazz, LatinAmerican & Ballroom, Contemporary.Musical Theatre (3 years)Training for a performance career takesdiscipline and tenacity. Building on the coreknowledge attained in the first year, studentsaccepted on to the Musical Theatre coursewill study all aspects of musical theatreperformance including: Make-up, Improvisation,Voice Production, Acting, Various DanceGenres, Singing, Audition Techniques.OTHER COURSES OFFEREDThe Foundation (1 year)Students not quite ready to join the full timethree year programmes can train to achievethe MDDC Foundation Certificate. Oncecompleted students can then commencestudy on the Diploma courses.A LevelAll students have the opportunity ofsupplementing their existing trainingwith Dance A Level.ISTD APLAs an ISTD Centre, MDDC also offer APLcourses. Please contact for further details.HOW TO APPLYAll students must pass the academy audition.Entry is by audition and interview with theprincipal. Auditions are held regularly throughoutthe year for enrolment in the followingacademic year.
