Meeting <strong>Community</strong> Needs<br />

Radio Road Block – By joining forces with many<br />

community partners and local radio and TV stations,<br />

Treasure Valley radio listeners heard 42 seconds of an<br />

inconsolable baby crying — all <strong>to</strong> promote child abuse<br />

awareness and prevention.<br />

May<br />

Eagle Property – <strong>St</strong>. Luke’s announced plans <strong>to</strong> meet<br />

<strong>the</strong> increasing demand for health care services in <strong>the</strong><br />

rapidly growing Eagle area. Property located on <strong>St</strong>ate<br />

<strong>St</strong>reet near Highway 55 is slated <strong>to</strong> become home <strong>to</strong><br />

a new <strong>St</strong>. Luke’s facility within <strong>the</strong> next few years. Initial<br />

plans call for physician offices and outpatient services.<br />

Additional services will be added <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> site as<br />

community need develops.<br />

June<br />

<strong>St</strong>. Luke’s Heart Safe <strong>Community</strong> – A public health<br />

initiative aimed at increasing <strong>the</strong> survival rate of people<br />

who experience cardiac arrest, <strong>St</strong>. Luke’s Heart Safe<br />

<strong>Community</strong> saves lives by providing au<strong>to</strong>mated external<br />

defibrilla<strong>to</strong>rs (AEDs) <strong>to</strong> Treasure Valley schools and<br />

not-for-profit organizations.
