Meeting <strong>Community</strong> Needs<br />
Children’s Hospital School – The new classroom<br />
and on-site teacher ensure that children in need of longterm<br />
hospitalization are given <strong>the</strong> same educational<br />
opportunities as o<strong>the</strong>r kids <strong>the</strong>ir age.<br />
Bloomin’ Bulbs that Benefit – <strong>St</strong>. Luke’s Auxiliary<br />
received more than 200 flower bulb orders for this<br />
first-annual fundraiser that allows people <strong>to</strong> purchase <strong>the</strong><br />
flowers for which <strong>St</strong>. Luke’s grounds are known. Bloomin’<br />
Bulbs benefits <strong>St</strong>. Luke’s NICU Parent Support program.<br />
November<br />
Surgical Services Department – Improvements <strong>to</strong>, and<br />
expansion of, <strong>St</strong>. Luke’s Boise operating areas include <strong>the</strong><br />
Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, 14 new operating<br />
suites, advanced neurosurgery suites with BrainLab<br />
technology, and an updated and expanded Central<br />
Processing facility. Dedicated pediatric ORs and waiting<br />
areas are currently under construction.<br />
At Your Request – This room service dining program,<br />
which includes fresh-off-<strong>the</strong>-menu selections, was<br />
implemented <strong>to</strong> increase satisfaction by putting meal<br />
service in <strong>the</strong> hands of <strong>the</strong> patient.
