Rather, the reignof God operates through an endless number of powers,through an endless number of the heavenly host, through anendless number of personalities that stand about his throneand stand near to us as well.Yes, I know quite well that modern man wants to seeonly people and, beyond them, nothing else in the whole,wide world. I know very well that we want to be the onlyones who have the Spirit, thus glorifying ourselves...But, myfriends, everything which lives in the heavenly world—thatworld into which our material eyes cannot see, which fillsall earth and heaven—those beings nevertheless surround usfrom the side of the Father in heaven. There exists a regimeunder which we repeatedly feel ourselves served by invisiblepowers; and time and again our spirit feels awakened by theSpirit which fills the whole creation and which is God.i don’t want to have a single day go by without recallingthat God’s heavenly host is around us, going out into allthe world. I couldn’t live a single day without the thoughtthat there is never a time nor a place that we are alone.0
God sends us all sorts of powers, all sorts of helpers,both corporeal and spiritual; and all these messengers ofGod are personal in nature. Under God’s command, thereare an endless number of powers which can surround us andaccompany us; and they are most various.for a long time we have fought against darkness. Thedevil, death, and hell would have us in terror. We have beenin many difficulties, and many times have not seen a waythrough. But God has reached out his right hand to us inJesus Christ; and for many years he has protected us andgiven us victory. But today there appears another fight forus, namely, the fight against people who do not want to acceptthe truth. Yet more dangerous than the invisible powersof darkness is the visible power of men, those who falselyadminister the power of God, who misuse the Spirit in theirflesh and so put God’s honor to shame through their cunning.More dangerous than the deceptions of the world aredeceptions in the name of Christianity.We experience many things which are not at all meantto be shared with others. Regarding experiences connectedwith the kingdom of God, it is not the main thing that othersknow about them except, perhaps, that others mightlive on the fruit of an individual’s experience of the kingdom.But the private experiences of Jesus and the apostles,as those of the prophets of the Old Testament, are for the1
