Carlos Eugênio and Silvério Afonso and a sanction offour days in detention on the other three officers. Alessandro dos Reis Moraes daSilva, 20, unemployedIn Belém, on June 25, 1999, the victim was sleeping with his twobrothers when four police officers known as Moreira, Pestana, Júnior andToninho entered his house with their weapons drawn. Apparently, when da Silva fell out of bed, the policeshot several rounds at him.The officers then dragged da Silva to the car and bring him to themunicipal first aid station. The police contended that da Silva was acriminal known as "Lamparinha", who had committed robberies in theJuruna district. According to the police, the victim shot at them first, tryingto resist arrest.The victim's mother registered a complaint with Pará State PoliceInternal Affairs. Pedro Dantas, grave digger.In Belém, on November 1, 1999, Pedro Dantas returned fromwork with his friend, Jesus Nazareno Cardoso Alho, when policeinvestigator Remilton dos Santos Rodrigues and a man known as "ZéMiséria" approached them in a car. The investigator got out of the car andpulled Dantas'shirt, put a gun to his chest and fired five rounds, killing him.
