Here are some benefitsof fearing the Lord:• WISDOM—Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning ofwisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”• PROTECTION – Psalm 34:7 “The angel of the Lord encamps aroundthose who fear him, and he delivers them.”• PROVISION – Psalm 34:9 “Fear the Lord, you his holy people, forthose who fear him lack nothing.”• HEALING AND REFRESHMENT – Proverbs 3:7-8 “Do not be wise inyour own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health <strong>to</strong>your body and nourishment <strong>to</strong> your bones.”2. Pray for one another <strong>to</strong> grow in wisdom according <strong>to</strong> James1:5. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who givesgenerously <strong>to</strong> all without finding fault, and it will be given <strong>to</strong> you.”Share an area in your life where you need wisdom then pray <strong>to</strong>getherwith thanksgiving for God’s presence.3. Affirm the ministry of one another. Consider 1 Corinthians 12:4-6. “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributesthem. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. Thereare different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone itis the same God at work.” Take time <strong>to</strong> speak words of affirmation<strong>to</strong> the members of your small group. Recognize the gifts of the Spirityou see in them. You may be surprised that others see God at workin you in ways you may not even be aware of.
