It remains true today. Prayer isthe fire that empowers the supernatural ministry of Christ today. Godis stirring an ever-growing desperation for God throughout the church– an acknowledgement that nothing of eternal significance happensapart from Christ and his power. Prayer and intimacy with the Fatherenables us to constantly be filled up so that we can be poured out in theworld. We stand in need of a constant infilling of the Holy Spirit. Thisemphasis on prayer is growing throughout the world. There is a worldwideresurgence in the power of prayer. But we’ve only begun. I believethis intensity of prayer will continue to grow until Christ comes again.God is constantly doing a new thing in our midst. He works in times andseasons and we must be alert to the move of the Holy Spirit in ministry.As leaders of today, we have the responsibility to affect the leaders oftomorrow. One move of the Spirit I recognize today is that God is raisingup children and youth with powerful supernatural ministries. I trust yousee that in your experience as well. My examples come mostly fromour Aldersgate Conference, which is a multigenerational experience foradults, children and youth. I’ve witnessed young people who are fallingpassionately in love with Jesus and their capacity to believe God for theimpossible outdistances many adults.
