86 From Hopscotch To Holinessand let Me fill your life with meaning and transform your ordinaryinto My extraordinary.”All believers need to stay open to hearing from God and sharing propheticwords with the body of Christ. Be careful of putting limits on God. Thetruth is Jesus is the Good Shepherd (John 10:3-5) and we are his belovedsheep. That reality is part of God’s covenant relationship with us. Itis not based on your feelings or your circumstances. You can hear theLord’s voice and follow him. Praise the Lord! Have confidence in the HolySpirit’s work in you. Those are not idle words. They are my sincere prayerfor you and a key to your moving in the miraculous.Remember, we are not praying to a reluctant God. Our Lord madehumanity to be the object of his love. God has always desired intimacywith us and he has made that provision through Jesus. We can know themind and heart of Christ, Beloved. Then, we can prophesy effectively.Praise the Lord!Prophecies of today will be consistent with the general principles of theBible, such as the sovereignty of God, the never-failing love of God, theneed for salvation found only in Christ, and living and relating to othersaccording to the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. Of course we arealways called to test the word of the Lord according to 1 Thessalonians5:19-22. “Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contemptbut test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.” Youcan continue to pray over and discern the truth of God’s prophetic word. Some parts of the word may speak directly to your current circumstancesand other parts may require more prayer and discernment to understand. We should ask God to confirm the prophetic word through other meanslike counsel from trusted friends and the Holy Scriptures. But whenyou test the word, and if you discern it is from the Lord, you must obey.
