Employee <strong>train</strong>ing and continuing education continued with the same high intensity. The<br />

increased use of internal experts as <strong>train</strong>ers brought our <strong>train</strong>ing courses high quality and<br />

custom-made content under cost-effective conditions.<br />

Training was focused on developing managers in the area of production. Intensive, modern<br />

management programs such as the <strong>Miba</strong> Leadership Academy and the <strong>Miba</strong> Management<br />

Academy ensure that internal candidates for promotion to key positions are optimally prepared.<br />

<strong>Miba</strong> also remained firmly committed to apprentice <strong>train</strong>ing. Twenty-seven young people<br />

began <strong>train</strong>ing in the Austrian companies in 2009-2010, while <strong>Miba</strong> offers apprenticeships<br />

to 22 young people at the Slovakian sites.<br />

Our employees’ dedication and high level of loyalty made it possible for <strong>Miba</strong> to stand its<br />

ground so well in these challenging times. The opinions of our employees are just as<br />

important to the company as a relationship based on partnership and integrity. The <strong>Miba</strong><br />

employee survey takes place every two years at all <strong>Miba</strong> sites. In May 2010 we once again<br />

invited all our employees to share their opinions and then to work together with us on<br />

improvement projects.<br />

The challenge of the Human Capital work for 2010-2011 is to work with the changed<br />

economic conditions. We must respond to the high volatility and uncertainty of our markets<br />

with increased innovation and flexibility in our shared work, while producing products<br />

of outstanding quality. We are also focused on employee health. Only healthy, happy<br />

employees can contribute their part to the company’s success.<br />
