Striving for business success, behaving in an environmentally friendly manner and taking
responsibility for our employees and the environment go hand in hand at Miba. Sustainable
action in all areas is part and parcel of our corporate strategy. It is important to us to
work in a way that will also profit future generations. Our success is driven by forward-looking
action and the personal development of our employees. We offer an international outlook,
invest in continuing education and encourage our employees to live healthy lives. We provide
economic impetus through our investments and taxes. Miba technologies make an
essential contribution to our customers’ innovative capacities and competitive strength.
We emphasize constant optimization of resources and use of environmentally friendly
materials in production. As a partner to the international engine and automotive industry,
we also help to make mobility more environmentally friendly. We develop new high-tech
components for more efficient generations of engines that emit less CO2 .
Healthy employees in a safe work environment
Committed, capable employees are the biggest factor in Miba’s success. The “Fit at Work,
Fit for Life” initiative is designed to improve employees’ health consciousness for the long
term. As part of this initiative, about 15 percent of our employees took part in health
forums throughout Austria in 2009. High-quality work requires a safe working environment.
That’s one reason why Miba invests in safe, modern systems, ergonomic workspaces
and workplace safety training. A project at Miba Bearing Group is one of the key
parts of our zero accident strategy, which is also stipulated in the “Miba 2015” vision:
