Striving for business success, behaving in an environmentally friendly manner and taking<br />

responsibility for our employees and the environment go hand in hand at <strong>Miba</strong>. Sustainable<br />

action in all areas is part and parcel of our corporate strategy. It is important to us to<br />

work in a way that will also profit future generations. Our success is driven by forward-looking<br />

action and the personal development of our employees. We offer an international outlook,<br />

invest in continuing education and encourage our employees to live healthy lives. We provide<br />

economic impetus through our investments and taxes. <strong>Miba</strong> technologies make an<br />

essential contribution to our customers’ innovative capacities and competitive strength.<br />

We emphasize constant optimization of resources and use of environmentally friendly<br />

materials in production. As a partner to the international engine and automotive industry,<br />

we also help to make mobility more environmentally friendly. We develop new high-tech<br />

components for more efficient generations of engines that emit less CO2 .<br />

Healthy employees in a safe work environment<br />

Committed, capable employees are the biggest factor in <strong>Miba</strong>’s success. The “Fit at Work,<br />

Fit for Life” initiative is designed to improve employees’ health consciousness for the long<br />

term. As part of this initiative, about 15 percent of our employees took part in health<br />

forums throughout Austria in 2009. High-quality work requires a safe working environment.<br />

That’s one reason why <strong>Miba</strong> invests in safe, modern systems, ergonomic workspaces<br />

and workplace safety <strong>train</strong>ing. A project at <strong>Miba</strong> Bearing Group is one of the key<br />
