Seawater Desalination Code

P L A N N I N G C O D EINTRODUCTIONThis Planning Code is designed to ensure that each User provides the DWTSO withrelevant, up-to-date and accurate planning data forecast and other planningdata information to enable the DWTSO to prepare and submit to ECRA theTen Year Statement.This Planning Code sets out the roles and responsibilities of the DWTSO and eachUser in relation to the procedures to be followed by the DWTSO and eachUser in connection with the data exchange required for the DWTSO toprepare the Ten Year Statement.It is envisaged that the Ten Year Statement will identify any reinforcements,improvements and/or extension programs that are required in relation to:(a)(b)(c)Seawater Desalination Plants;DWTS; andConnection Points.The planning processes relating to the development of the Seawater DesalinationIndustry shall be carried out by the DWTSO annually, and cover thesucceeding ten (10) Years, and should provide sufficient lead times tofacilitate:(a)(b)OBJECTIVEany necessary planning, permitting or consenting activities; andany necessary engineering, design, development, procurement andrelated works.The objectives of this Planning Code include:(a)(b)(c)to provide a long term prognosis for the supply of TransmittedWater in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by facilitating the provision ofplanning data from each User to the DWTSO;to ensure that the demand, production and delivery forecast andassociated planning data in connection with the Transmitted Wateris provided by the each User to the DWTSO, in order for theDWTSO:(i)(ii)to undertake the planning and development of the DWTS inaccordance with the relevant standards; andto maintain existing Connection Points and to facilitate newConnection Points; andto enable the DWTSO to provide to ECRA the Ten Year Statementto ensure that the long term Transmitted Water production andtransmission capacity needs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can beidentified, planned and procured.7561A01/FICHT-7235220-v22PC-1
