CC-APPENDIX 6TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ONLINEMONITORING SYSTEM AND SAMPLE POINTCC-App.6.1CC-App.6.1.1CC-App.6.1.2CC-App.6.1.3CC-App.6.1.4CC-App.6.1.5CC-App.6.1.6CC-App.6.1.7CC-App.6.1.8GeneralThe Online Monitoring System and the Sample Point shall be designedin accordance with any, or a combination of, the SASO, ISO, NEMA orIEEE standards or equivalent internationally recognized standards.The Sample Point shall be in compliance with the requirements forwater quality sampling in accordance with the SASO standards orequivalent internationally recognized.The Online Monitoring System at the Connection Point between eachSeawater Desalination Plant or the NSP, as the case may be, and theDWTS or the PCC, as the case may be, shall contain equipment capableof:(a)(b)(c)measuring continuously:(i)(ii)the temperature;the pH value;(iii) the conductivity;(iv) the turbidity;(v)the residual chlorine;measuring quasi-continuously alkalinity; andcalculating from the above measured parameters the:(i)(ii)total dissolved solids; andLangelier Saturation Index.The Online Monitoring System at the Connection Point between theDWTS and the WDS shall contain equipment capable of measuring:(i)(ii)the temperature;the pH value;(iii) the conductivity;(iv) the alkalinity (quasi-continuously); and(v)the residual chlorine.The Online Monitoring System shall contain an Outstation. TheOutstations may integrate the converter and calculator units.The Online Monitoring Systems shall include equipment in series witha means of removing such equipment without affecting the operation ofthe other equipment.The Outstations shall provide two outputs per measured parameter andshall enable the parameter to be interrogated locally and at a later date forparameter to be provided remotely over the communications channels.The converter units/Outstations shall provide, by means of the localinterrogation port, facilities for configuring the instrumentation system.
