WINGATE<br />
Jason Wingate ‘06 enters his first season as coordinator of<br />
men’s basketball operations at <strong>Manhattan</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Wingate<br />
was a key member of the Jaspers’ teams which advanced to the<br />
postseason in three of his four years in Riverdale. He comes<br />
back to <strong>Manhattan</strong> after spending the past four seasons playing<br />
professionally in Puerto Rico within the Baloncesto Superior<br />
Nacional (BSN) league.<br />
Wingate scored 973 points over his four years in Riverdale<br />
helping the Jaspers to two MAAC Championships and NCAA<br />
Tournament berths. The New York City native ranks 4th alltime<br />
with an 82.7% career free-throw percentage and is 6th in<br />
program history with 334 assists. Wingate was a part of two of<br />
the program’s biggest postseason victories upsetting Florida<br />
in the 2004 NCAA Tournament, and his 21 points helped send<br />
the Jaspers past Maryland in the 2006 National Invitational<br />
Tournament. Wingate, a two-time team captain, started 98 of 121<br />
appearances and logged a 40% career 3-point shooting mark.<br />
Wingate ranks in the top-10 of the Jaspers’ list for free-throws<br />
made and he finished his career with 106 steals.<br />
Over his four seasons in the BSN, Wingate scored 333 points,<br />
dished out 152 assists and grabbed 76 rebounds. Wingate played<br />
in 77 games during his professional career, including 30 with<br />
Carolina Gigantes in 2009 w<strong>here</strong> he finished the year ranked in<br />
the top-15 of the league for assists.<br />
