GL Assessment offers a Customised Assessment Service for schools,
local authorities or a consortium of schools that are interested in the
idea of developing their own customised tests in order to meet specific
assessment criteria.
Bespoke tests are available in the areas of verbal reasoning, non-verbal
reasoning, mathematics and english.
Our customised assessments are original tests that are created uniquely
for a school, local authority or a consortium of schools to ensure the
customer gets exactly what they want from their assessment
programme.
Why use Customised Assessments?
Customised assessments are unique and specific to the needs and
requirements of the school, LA or consortium. You can decide what you
specifically need the assessment for and tailor it to your needs. The
tests can be used for admission testing, targeted measurements,
monitoring standards and for grouping and banding of pupils by
ability/attainment
Creating your own tests for your school or consortium allows you to
decide:
• When you need to use it
• Which subjects you would like to assess
• How many pupils you would like to assess
• The format you would like the assessment to be in
• Whether you would like to score it in house or use a scoring system
The tests
The unique tests are compiled from secure banks of questions which
have been thoroughly trialled and validated in advance. Each question is
rigorously controlled to ensure that each customised test is unique to
the customer who has commissioned it for the duration of the testing
programme. The test will not have been published previously, making it
highly unlikely that children will have seen any of the questions before.
As such, the reliability of information that the test produces is not going
to be compromised by prior testing or coaching. For customers
commissioning a bespoke test to inform decisions about intake, the test
can be changed each year if necessary.
When a customer commissions a test, we work closely with them to
ensure that all their requirements are met. This involves careful
consideration of style and level of questions, length of test, marking
options, the quality of information it produces and, ultimately, verification
that every aspect of the test is fit for purpose.
