You will need to get there early or book well in
advance to travel on the wheel, every time I
have been in the area there has been a long
queue.
Parliament is usually seen from the pavement
alongside the building, but try walking across
the square and it looks like a building from
ancient times. I can almost imaging this with a
thatched roof.
Adjacent to the wheel is the National
Aquarium. Or rather it was until it was sold into
private ownership. This is another place that is
on the must do list for visitors. I have resided in
the UK for 60 years and still must do.
Apart from what is inside, all four of the
locations mentioned afford photographic
opportunities. To the north of the river is
Parliament Square with the Houses of
Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and other
impressive buildings.
The abbey is full of interesting architecture, but
how often do we take the view and ignore the
detail? Looking at this picture I realised that I
have never been to the front of the building.
Perhaps next time.
Although most of the London landmarks, such
as Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace,
are in walking distance, there is a great deal to
see and photograph in those building around the
square and bridge.
As for articles for the magazine, this is a
personal ramble, and has taken me half an hour
to write. It is not the best writing I have ever
done, but if you have reached this point, it has
served its purpose, it has caught your interest.
The pen is mightier, coupled with a camera it is
unstoppable. I can not write about your town or
adventures, I have never been there.
