We went and found a spot suitable for some
fishing before meeting up with some other
boaties for the evening and moored up in the
shelter of one of the many Islands.
Once we were all settled for the evening I had
to go for a wonder with my camera to meet
some more of the locals here as well as the
amazing rugged scenery this place has to offer.
This turned out to be a bit of a challenge, as the
only way onto the Island was with a Kayak. If
anyone knows me, I ain’t too balanced on a
kayak with camera.

Thankfully I made it and the camera did too, so
it was off on my travels to seek some Photo’s.
While I love to Photograph places I also love to
learn as much about them as I can.
Home away from home, for the evening.
On my last trip I got to fly over some of the
Islands filming and taking some snaps so while
I think of more to tell you about this trip, here’s
just a few of the shots I came to get. Oh, I
forgot to mention... one of the Islands has a
small plane which can fly you from the main
land if you want to visit.
The Abrolhos Islands have a vast history with
man and ships being wrecked since the Early
1600s when the famous Batavia was wrecked
here, following that was the Zeewijk wrecked
in the early 1700s.
It has probably claimed others over time too but
these are the most famous or known here in
WA.
Now these Islands have become a way of life
for the Cray fisherman of Western Australia
and many of the islands have homes built on
them for the seasons of fishing.
