CAREER TRANSACTIONS:<br />

• Signed by the Colts on September 25, 2012.<br />

• Waived by the Carolina Panthers on August 31, 2012.<br />

• Claimed off waivers by the Panthers on September 8, 2011.<br />

• Waived by the New England Patriots on September 7, 2011.<br />

• Selected by the Patriots in the second-round (41st overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.<br />

2013 (<strong>COLTS</strong>):<br />

• Totaled one tackle in the regular season opener against Oakland (9/8).<br />

• Saw action in the secondary and on special teams during the team’s Week 2 loss against Miami (9/15). Finished the game with one<br />

tackle, one pass defensed, one special teams stop and contributed with his first career punt return of nine yards.<br />

• Tallied two tackles and one pass defensed in the team’s Week 3 victory at San Francisco (9/22). Was part of a secondary that limited<br />

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to two completions in the first half and 139 total net passing yards.<br />

• In a Week 4 victory against Jacksonville (9/29), intercepted a Blaine Gabbert pass and returned the ball 41 yards for a touchdown to<br />

give the Colts a 10-3 lead in the second quarter. It was the fourth interception return for a touchdown in his career and he now ranks<br />

tied for third in franchise history with three interception returns for touchdowns. For the second consecutive year, Butler returned an<br />

interception for a touchdown against the Jaguars in Jacksonville. Also contributed with four solo tackles and two special teams stops.<br />

• In a Week 5 victory against Seattle (10/6), made his first start of the season at cornerback and intercepted a Russell Wilson pass on<br />

Seattle’s final drive of the game to help seal the win. The interception is the ninth of Butler’s career and his second in as many games.<br />

Also contributed with two tackles and two passes defensed.<br />

• Posted one tackle in the team’s Week 6 loss at San Diego (10/14).<br />

• Contributed with five tackles and a career-high three passes defensed in a Week 7 victory against Denver (10/20). Was part of a<br />

secondary that held the Broncos and quarterback Peyton Manning to 2013 single-game first half lows in net yards (134) and net<br />

passing yards (101).<br />

• Finished with three solo tackles and one tackle for loss in the team’s Week 9 victory at Houston (11/3).<br />

2012 (<strong>COLTS</strong>):<br />

• Signed by the Colts as a free agent on September 25 and totaled 30 tackles (23 solo), seven passes defensed, four interceptions,<br />

including two returned for touchdowns, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 11 games played (four starts). Added five<br />

special teams stops.<br />

• Saw significant time in the secondary during a Week 9 contest against Miami (11/4) and totaled two tackles and one pass defensed.<br />

Also added two special teams stops.<br />

• Made his first start as a member of the Colts at Jacksonville (11/8) and contributed with four tackles, two interceptions and one fumble<br />

recovery. On his first interception in the third quarter, he returned the pick 11 yards for a touchdown. The interceptions were the fourth<br />

and fifth of his career and his first since 2009. It was the first two-interception, pick-six performance for a member of the Colts since<br />

December 7, 2008 and the first three takeaway game since 1986. Was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his<br />

performance.<br />

• Started at right cornerback at New England (11/18) and contributed with six tackles (four solo) and one forced fumble.<br />

• Against Buffalo (11/25), started at right cornerback and finished with five tackles and one pass defensed.<br />

• At Detroit (12/2), finished with one tackle and two passes defensed starting as the nickel.<br />

• Notched an interception, two tackles and one pass defensed against Tennessee (12/9). The interception led to an Adam Vinatieri 40-<br />

yard field goal and gave the Colts a 27-23 lead.<br />

• Intercepted a Brady Quinn pass on the Chiefs first offensive possession of the game and returned it 32 yards for a touchdown and a<br />

Colts 7-0 lead at Kansas City (12/23). The pick was the team’s fourth interception return for a touchdown, the fourth pick of the season<br />

for Butler and his second interception return for a touchdown. Butler’s four interceptions set a new career-high (previous best was<br />

three in 2009). The team’s four interception returns for a touchdown also tied a franchise best (1959, ‘65, ’68, ’75 and ’96).<br />

• Saw action in the team’s Wild Card Playoff loss at Baltimore (1/6) and totaled four solo tackles.<br />

2011 (PANTHERS):<br />

• Played in 13 games with six starts after being claimed off waivers from New England in September.<br />

• Registered 29 tackles (26 solo) and seven passes defensed, while adding two special teams tackles.<br />

2010 (PATRIOTS):<br />

• Played in 15 games with three starts, recording 28 tackles (26 solo) and six passes defensed.<br />

• Also saw action in one postseason contest against the New York Jets (1/16), where he made one solo tackle.<br />

2009 (PATRIOTS):<br />

• Played in 14 games with five starts.<br />

• Posted 33 tackles (29 solo), three interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, and eight passes defensed.<br />

• Returned five kickoffs for 104 yards.<br />

• Intercepted his first career pass when he picked off Kerry Collins in his first NFL start against Tennessee (10/18).<br />

• At Houston (1/3), picked off a pass from quarterback Matt Schaub and returned it 91 yards for a touchdown. It was the fourth-longest<br />

interception return in New England Patriots history.<br />
