Martin O’Sullivan is the Lead Surgeon with the BreastCheck Southern Unit<br />

and a consultant surgeon in the South Infirmary-Victoria <strong>University</strong> Hospital<br />

in Cork, where he also works in the symptomatic breast unit. A graduate <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>University</strong> College Cork, he trained in general surgery on the Irish Higher<br />

Surgical Training Scheme. He then completed a Surgical Oncology Fellowship<br />

with Monica Morrow M. D. in the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia<br />

where he also stayed on to undertake training in plastic surgery.<br />

Mr Kieran Horgan is Consultant Surgeon at Leeds General Infirmary and<br />

Clinical Director <strong>of</strong> the Breast Cancer Programme. Mr Horgan is a graduate <strong>of</strong><br />

UCD and trained in Cardiff and <strong>Ireland</strong> prior to becoming Senior Lecturer /<br />

Consultant at Cardiff. He then moved to Leeds in 1994 and has been<br />

instrumental in developing the breast cancer programme there. A former<br />

Secretary <strong>of</strong> the Association <strong>of</strong> Breast Surgeons @ BASO and a Member <strong>of</strong><br />

SAC in General Surgery, is a major contributor to training and research in<br />

breast cancer.<br />

Qualified from Trinity College Dublin 1993. Oncology training in Dublin,<br />

Edinburgh and London, completed 2001. Consultant medical oncologist<br />

Sligo general hospital 2002-2005. Consultant medical oncologist<br />

UCHG&MGH 2005-current Special interest in lung cancer and melanoma<br />
