Highlights of July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015:
• Received all eight proposed 2014 District Nurses Associations (DNA) Bylaws during calendar
year 2014, reviewed them for compliance with the MNA Board of Directors (BOD) approved
Generic District Bylaws Template, and recommended approval by the MNA BOD once
compliance was demonstrated.
○ DNA 1 … MNA BOD approved the proposed 2014 DNA 1 Bylaws in February 2014; the
DNA 1 membership adopted the amended DNA 1 Bylaws on April 25, 2014.
○ DNA 2 … MNA BOD approved the proposed 2014 DNA 2 Bylaws in April 2014; DNA 2
membership adopted the amended DNA 2 Bylaws on November 06, 2014.
○ DNA 3 … MNA BOD approved the proposed 2014 DNA 3 Bylaws in August 2014; DNA 3
membership adopted the amended DNA 3 Bylaws on November 05, 2014.
○ DNA 4 … MNA BOD approved the proposed 2014 DNA 4 Bylaws in June 2014; the DNA 4
membership adopted the amended DNA 4 Bylaws on September 03, 2014.
○ DNA 5 … MNA BOD approved the proposed 2014 DNA 5 Bylaws in August 2014; DNA 5
membership adopted the amended DNA 5 Bylaws on November12, 2014.
○ DNA 7 … MNA BOD approved the proposed 2014 DNA 7 Bylaws in August 2014; DNA 7
membership adopted the amended DNA 7 Bylaws on November 13, 2014.
○ DNA 8 … MNA BOD approved the proposed 2014 DNA 8 Bylaws in August 2014, DNA 8
membership adopt the amended DNA 8 Bylaws on December 03, 2014.
○ DNA 9 … MNA BOD approved the proposed 2014 DNA 9 Bylaws in March 2014; DNA 9
membership will adopted the amended DNA 9 Bylaws on September 30, 2014.
• Sent MNA COB&P Appointment Letters to both committee members who consented to serve
on the MNA COB&P for the next two years; terms started November 2014 and end October
2016. Chair reappointed by MNA BOD for additional year (Nov 2014 – Oct 2015).
• Followed up with each DNA President regarding the three final actions needed by each DNA
to complete the DNA Bylaws Revision process:
○ Record the adoption of the amended DNA Bylaws in the DNA Minutes from the DNA
Membership Meeting; the Minutes need to address the details of the discussion and voting
on the Bylaws.
○ Send an electronic copy of the adopted DNA Bylaws to MNA with the date the
membership adopted the DNA Bylaws on the final page of the Bylaws.
