The Maryland Nurse is published quarterly and is the official publication of the MNA and is<br />

circulated to all registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and student nurses in Maryland. We<br />

welcome original articles and submissions for publication. The Editorial Board reviews all refereed<br />

submissions. Each issue focuses on Maryland nurses, student nurses, nursing practice, nursing<br />

education, employment, and articles of interest to nurses.<br />

Issue 1 (November, December 2014, January <strong>2015</strong>) focused on highlights from the MNA<br />

<strong>Convention</strong>, including the Awards Luncheon, an article on simulation, Nursing Schools/<br />

Education, a Letter to the Editor about the importance of influenza vaccination, <strong>Nurses</strong> in<br />

the News, an article on plant-based diet, and included an article about the newly appointed<br />

Executive Director for the MBON, as well as several articles of interest.<br />

Issue 2 (February, March, April <strong>2015</strong>) featured an article on the ranking of nursing as most honest<br />

and ethical, a thank you to outgoing Board Members, an article on the Full Practice Authority Bill<br />

for nurse practitioners, a piece on the <strong>2015</strong> AANP State Awards, an article on a medical mission<br />

trip, MANS Corner, <strong>Nurses</strong> in the News, District News and Schools of Nursing/Education news;<br />

Issue 3 (May, June, July <strong>2015</strong>) featured nurses selected for the <strong>2015</strong> Baltimore Top <strong>Nurses</strong> Awards,<br />

pictures from Lobby Night <strong>2015</strong>, an article on Nurse/Physician collaboration, <strong>Nurses</strong> in the News,<br />

Schools of Nursing/Education news, MANS Corner, and a piece on the <strong>2015</strong> MNA <strong>Annual</strong> Awards.<br />

Issue 4 (August, September, October <strong>2015</strong>) featured <strong>Convention</strong> registration materials, Nursing<br />

Foundation Scholarship information, <strong>Nurses</strong> in the News, Schools of Nursing/Education news,<br />

MANS Corner, and several informational articles.<br />

Dr. Charlotte Wood will be assuming the position of Editor for The Maryland Nurse as of August<br />

<strong>2015</strong>. I will continue to contribute to The Maryland Nurse as a member of the Editorial Board and<br />

thank all Maryland nurses for their support and contributions to the journal.<br />

The Maryland Nurse encourages all nurses and student nurses to submit articles of interest to<br />
