PLAZA DE LA PAZ<br />

Fue construida en 1986, con el fin de congregar a<br />

la multitud que, el 7 de julio de ese mismo año,<br />

recibió al Papa Juan Pablo II en su visita de dos<br />

horas a Barranquilla en el marco de su<br />

peregrinación apostólica a Colombia.<br />

La plaza de la Paz es un espacio público abierto<br />

para los ciudadanos y visitantes, en el que<br />

actualmente se reúnen diferentes manifestaciones<br />

culturales y sociales tales como grupos de teatros,<br />

bailarines, incluso jóvenes que practican<br />

skateboard y patinaje.<br />

It was built in 1986 in order to gather the crowd on<br />

July 7 of the same year. It hosted Pope John Paul II<br />

during his two-hour visit in Barranquilla as part of<br />

his apostolic pilgrimage to Colombia.<br />

La Plaza De La Paz is a public open space for<br />

residents and visitors in which a variety of cultural<br />

and social events take place such as theater<br />

groups, dancers, even young people who practice<br />

skateboarding and skating.<br />
