Awoshie-Pokuase Road<br />
Burma Camp Road, Phase 1<br />
Coast road between Iron City and<br />
Universal into a-6km three lane<br />
dual carriageway with slip roads and<br />
ramps.<br />
3. Construction of Amasaman-<br />
Ashalaja-Oboom Road - a distance<br />
of 33km into asphaltic concrete road<br />
with a bridge across the river Densu<br />
to replace the current bailey bridge.<br />
The construction of the Amasaman<br />
Road will provide an alternate<br />
road to Nsawam and several other<br />
parts of Accra. The same route will<br />
provide a convenient alternative<br />
for commuters to Kasoa from the<br />
eastern parts of Accra, Nsawam and<br />
beyond.<br />
4. Construction of 20km of roads<br />
within Kasoa and Ga South<br />
Municipality. This is necessary<br />
to provide critical access for<br />
communities within Amanfrom,<br />
Amanfrom Top, Galilea, Iron<br />
City, Tuba, Kasoa and Nyanyanor.<br />
These access roads will improve<br />
accessibility for the communities<br />
without coming onto the main<br />
Kasoa road.<br />
6. Construction of critical drainage<br />
systems in Kasoa and Ga South<br />
Municipality.<br />
7. Construction of a new two-storey<br />
Polyclinic for Kasoa to replace the<br />
old one. This polyclinic will have an<br />
OPD, Doctor’s Consulting rooms,<br />
pharmacy, an intensive care unit,etc.<br />
8. Construction of four 36<br />
classroom blocks to help eliminate<br />
the shift system in schools within the<br />
Kasoa and Ga South Communities.<br />
9. Provision of 10 mechanized<br />
boreholes for selected communities<br />
that have challenges with GWCL<br />
distribution system.<br />
10. Construction of Bus Rapid<br />
Transit (BRT) Terminal in Kasoa.<br />
Other roads in the Central Region<br />
Upgrading works are being<br />
undertaken on roads in Dunkwa-on<br />
Offin, Winneba and Agona Swedru.<br />
Selected towns to benefit from the<br />
asphalt overlay programme include<br />
Cape Coast, Dunkwa, Saltpond<br />
and Mankessim. The Kasoa bypass,<br />
Mankessim-Abora Dunkwa,<br />
Dunkwa–Twifo Praso-Assin Fosu,<br />
Amanful–Nyarkrom–Nkum, Assin<br />
Nyakomase–Senchiem.<br />
Assin-Twifo Praso road, Essiam<br />
Town roads and the Breman<br />
Asikuma-Amanfopong roads are<br />
but a few of the ongoing works to<br />
improve the road network in the<br />
Region.<br />
Work is also progressing steadily<br />
on the Ekwamoase-Ofabil, Sankor-<br />
Kweikrom-Ojobi-Akoti, Abowin-<br />
Nkodwo-Asempanyim ,Duakwa-<br />
Akwakwaa (Phase 1) and 63.20km<br />
Dominase-Subinso roads.<br />
Also, the following feeder<br />
roads have been completed -<br />
Bawjiase-Aponkyekura (6.9 km),<br />
Bawjiase-Ayensuako (5.3 km),<br />
Adawukwa-Adjator-Honi (3.45<br />
km), Bewuanum-Adawukwa (9.95<br />
km), Bawjiase-Amonkrom (Congo)-<br />
Tetteykura (3.25km), Ahentia-<br />
Busumabra Jn-Kweikrom (6.0km),<br />
Papaase No. 1-Odotom (9.4 km),<br />
Kwa Bondze-Larbie-Jeikrodua<br />
(3.65km) and the Bontrase-Dasum<br />
(4.7 km).<br />
The Sankor-Kweikrom-Ojobi-Akoti<br />
road is scheduled to be completed in<br />
the coming months. The Nkwanta–<br />
Mempeasem, Jamra–Adandan,<br />
Ekwamoase–Ofabil, Camp–Adjoum<br />
and the Brofuyedur –Odoo Roads<br />
are being improved as part of the<br />
Cocoa Roads Project.<br />
Ashanti Region<br />
Work on the Sunyani Road project<br />
in Kumasi popularly referred to<br />
as the Sofoline Interchange will<br />
be completed this year. Works are<br />
ongoing on the Bekwai and New<br />
Edubiase town roads. Last year,<br />
