• e-Cabinet - An automated and<br />
collaborated platform for the workings<br />

cabinet meetings and procedures.<br />
• e-Health - The eHealth solution,<br />
currently being piloted at the Korle<br />
Bu Teaching Hospital, the Upper West<br />
Regional Hospital and the Zebilla<br />
District Hospital, is a comprehensive<br />
enterprise level system for managing<br />
the automation needs of the healthcare<br />
environment . The components include:<br />
a) Hospital Information Management<br />
System (HIMS)<br />
b) Centralized electronic Medical<br />
Records System and<br />
c)Radiology Information System/Picture<br />
Archiving and Communication System<br />
(RIS/PAC)<br />
• Automated Tax Administration<br />
System - This is a one stop online<br />
platform for filing tax returns. Through<br />
this, businesses and citizens carry out<br />
processes related to filing and payment<br />
of taxes online.<br />
• e-Register - This makes it possible for<br />
online registration of businesses with<br />
the Registrar General’s Department. It<br />
also allows for online search for business<br />
names and other related business<br />
registration activities. This is integrated<br />
with the tax payment platform.<br />
• e-Immigration - A complete<br />
Integrated system that is automating<br />
immigration processes and enrolling<br />
Other Universal Access<br />
Interventions<br />
The Ghana Investment Fund for<br />
Electronic Communications (GIFEC)<br />
has rolled out a comprehensive<br />
programme aimed at bringing ICT<br />
services to the doorstep of Ghanaians<br />
especially in underprivileged<br />
communities and remote parts of<br />
Ghana. These initiatives include;<br />
• The Rural Telephony project - This<br />
project is being executed to ensure<br />
improved coverage of mobile telephony<br />
services in the remotest parts of the<br />
country.<br />
• Distribution of ICT equipment<br />
and software applications to selected<br />
Schools and institutions-Under this<br />
project thousands of computers and<br />
school management and examination<br />
applications have been distributed to<br />
selected schools to facilitate ICT uptake.<br />
• ICT Training - Under this initiative,<br />
managers, students, members of security<br />
agencies and prison inmates have been<br />
afforded the opportunity to acquire ICT<br />
skills to ensure that they are not left<br />
behind in the ICT age.<br />
• Disability Employment Project<br />
This initiative has resulted in the<br />
supply of trading booths to physically<br />
challenged persons to engage in ICTbased<br />
services in order to earn incomes.<br />
Among others they engage in repair of<br />
ICT gadgets and sale of ICT accessories.
