the Pra River. Twenty kilometers<br />
of Kumasi town roads have been<br />
upgraded with another 50km due<br />
for upgrade. Other major road<br />
projects ongoing in the Region<br />
include the Bomfa Junction-Asiwa-<br />
Bekwai, Bekwai-Ampaha-Asiwa,<br />
Kumawu-Timaate-Drobonso and<br />
Agyenkwaso-Anomabu-Gyadem<br />
Roads.<br />
The New Edubiase – Anomabo,<br />
Amantia – Obuasewa and Obuasi<br />
Junction – Dunkwa – Ayamfuri<br />
sections of the Region’s road<br />
network are also at various stages<br />
of implementation. A number of<br />
other roads in cocoa growing areas<br />
are at various stages of completion.<br />
These include the Ataase Nkwanta<br />
–Owusukrom and the Manfo-<br />
Subriso–Fanti Roads.<br />
Brong Ahafo Region<br />
Major roads in the Brong Ahafo<br />
Region which are being worked<br />
on include the Nsawkaw-Namase<br />
section of the Wenchi-Sampa Road,<br />
Berekum-Sampa, Atebubu-Kwame<br />
Danso-Kwadwokrom, Goaso-<br />
Kukuom Junction, Prang-Kintampo<br />
and Dormaa Ahenkro-Nkrankwanta<br />
Roads. Gambia No 2–Kyeremasu,<br />
Tepa Junction –Goaso (to link<br />
that part of Brong Ahafo to the<br />
Ashanti Region) and Kofibadukrom<br />
Junction –Kofibadukrom.<br />
Works are ongoing on; Dadiesoaba–<br />
Twabidi, Dormaa - Ahenkro–<br />
Baabianiha, Asuadei Junction<br />
– Asuadei, Antwirifo – Danyame<br />
Feeder Roads Project. Sunyani,<br />
Techiman, Nkoranza, Goaso and<br />
Dorma Ahenkro town roads have<br />
seen improvements<br />
Northern Region<br />
The 147-kilometre Sawla-Fufulso<br />
Road which includes rehabilitation<br />
of schools, health centres, markets<br />
and water treatment systems along<br />
that corridor in the Northern Region<br />
is complete.<br />
The Buipe-Tamale road<br />
rehabilitation project is also<br />
substantially completed. Works<br />
have commenced on the Busunu<br />
–Daboya road. The following<br />
roads are at various stages of<br />
completion; Daboya-Mankarigu-<br />
Wiase, including the Oti Damanko-<br />
Bimbila-Yendi Road, Yendi-<br />
Nakpanduri on the Eastern corridor,<br />
Nyankpala-Tolon, Tamale-Salaga,<br />
Chereponi–Yendi, Yendi-Tamale and<br />
Tamale-Kumbungu roads.<br />
Furthermore, there have been major<br />
improvements in Tamale town<br />
roads. About 30km of roads have<br />
been rehabilitated in the past two<br />
years.<br />
Another 25km are at various stages<br />
of construction. Roads in other<br />
urban areas in the region including<br />
Yendi, Savelugu, Damongo and Bole<br />
are being rehabilitated.<br />
Upper East Region<br />
Roads in the Upper East Region are<br />
receiving significant attention. These<br />
include:<br />
• 10 km of roads in the Bolgatanga<br />
municipality.<br />
• Navrongo and Bawku town roads<br />
• The Navrongo-Tumu,<br />
• Bolgatanga-Bongo,<br />
• Wikongo-Tongo<br />
• Navrongo-Tono<br />
• Bolga-Bawku,<br />
• Misiga-Kulungugu<br />
• Sandema-Wiesi<br />
Upper West Region<br />
The Wa municipality has seen a<br />
significant improvement in the road<br />
network. This includes the upgrade<br />
of 7km of town roads in 2014.<br />
Currently works are ongoing on the<br />
improvement of the road network on<br />
the UDS – Wa campus. Tumu roads<br />
have also been improved.<br />
Works are ongoing on the Nadowli-<br />
Lawra-Hamile, Wa-Bulenga and<br />
Wa-Dorimon roads together with<br />
construction of steel bridges on<br />
the Yala-Sombisi, Tantale-Tuvuu,<br />
Tuvuu-Lzabisi and Wa-Walewale<br />
roads.<br />
Other notable developments in the<br />
region include the ongoing work on<br />
the 39 km Jeffisi-Gwolu, and the<br />
Guono-Kperisi roads.
