2014 Amended Act 762 to clarify the power of<br />

the High Court to order the funds and<br />

Trademarks (Amendment) Act, Act (876) 2014 Amended Act 664 to reconcile<br />

renewal periods for the registration<br />

of trademarks and to provide for the<br />

international registration of trademarks.<br />

It further makes provision for powers to<br />

make Regulations to give effect to the<br />

provisions of the Madrid Protocol<br />

Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund<br />

Act(Act 877)<br />

2014 Established an independent fund wholly<br />

owned by the Republic of Ghana to mobilise,<br />

manage, coordinate and provide<br />

financial resources for investment in<br />

a diversified portfolio of infrastructure<br />

projects in Ghana for national development<br />

Fisheries (Amendment) Act,(Act 880) 2014 Amended the Fisheries Act (Act 625) to<br />

give effect to international conservation<br />

and management obligations, to<br />

empower the Minister to make Regulations<br />

to combat illegal, unreported and<br />

unregulated fishing in accordance with<br />

international obligations of Ghana.<br />

National Pensions (Amendment )<br />

Act,(Act 883)<br />

2014 Amended Act 766 to reduce the age<br />

from 55 years to 50 years for exemption<br />

from the first-tier scheme; and<br />

to provide for payment of benefit to<br />

non-Ghanaian members of the pension<br />

scheme<br />

Youth Employment Agency Act, (Act 887) 2015 Established the Youth Employment<br />

Agency for the purpose of the development,<br />

coordination, supervision and<br />

the facilitation of employment for the<br />

youth. The Act seeks to set standards<br />

and procedures for the employment<br />

and career development of the youth in<br />

the country.<br />

Ferrous Scrap Metals (Prohibition of<br />

export) Regulations (L.I.2201)<br />

Petroleum (Local Content and Local<br />

Participation) Regulations(L.I.2204)<br />

2013 The regulations seek to prohibit the<br />

export of ferrous scrap metal and further<br />

provide for a Ferrous Scrap Metal<br />

Monitoring Committee charged with<br />

the responsibility of implementing and<br />

enforcing the regulations.<br />

2013 Amended the Internal Revenue<br />

Regulations of 2000<br />

2013 The regulations seek to promote<br />

and maximise value addition and<br />

job creation through the use of<br />

local expertise, goods and services,<br />

businesses and financing in the<br />

petroleum industry value chain (so<br />

far over half a billion Ghana Cedis has<br />

accrued to Ghanaian businesses).
