bASiC infOrMAtiOn
• The Canberra and Calvary Hospitals are the
home hospitals for this network, all interns
will have rotations at The Canberra Hospital.
• Option to spend one or two terms of PGY2
rurally at Goulburn or Bega

Australian Capital Territory
• TCH has approximately 606 beds and
busy outpatient clinics. It is a major trauma
and teaching hospital, associated with the
Australian National University (ANU), and
covers many specialties.
• Calvary Hospital is a 162 bed public teaching
hospital also associated with the ANU.

• Strong research links with the ANU and its
John Curtin School of Medical Research.
• Nationally recognized, dedicated teaching
program.
• Fully equipped medical library at TCH
campus with online library and PDA service.
• Ability to undertake PGY2 terms rurally with
great teaching and clinical exposure.
• Protected clinical teaching time and these
sessions are recorded so that interns placed
at rural site are still able to access them.
• Sessions specifically organised to ensure
topics such as after-hours ward cover are
addressed early in the year

• Overseas trained doctors must have passed
both parts of the AMC exams or be eligible
for the Competent Authority Pathway. (see
www.amc.org.au).
• The appointment of interns will be subject
to interview and the normal selection
process. Applications will be considered
for those pursuing part-time or job sharing
arrangements.
