Queensl<strong>and</strong> Health is currently planning<br />
to advertise 665 intern positions for 2013,<br />
including 44 Rural generalist Pathway<br />
positions. <strong>The</strong> individual Queensl<strong>and</strong><br />
Health facility intern numbers provided are<br />
indicative only <strong>and</strong> subject to change prior<br />
to the opening of the <strong>2012</strong> Recruitment<br />
Campaign on Thursday 24 May.<br />
APPliCAtiOnS<br />
Applications for an intern position with<br />
Queensl<strong>and</strong> Health for the 2013 medical year<br />
will open on Thursday 24 May at 9am (AEST).<br />
Applications will be open for two weeks.<br />
Closing date for all applications is 5pm (AEST)<br />
Friday 8 June. All applications must be made<br />
24 Queensl<strong>and</strong><br />
through the online recruitment <strong>and</strong> placement<br />
program. Written applications will not be<br />
accepted.<br />
Applicants can make changes to their<br />
application online until the closing date. After<br />
the closure of the intern campaign, applicants<br />
will be able to edit their contact details <strong>and</strong><br />
referee details, as well as documents uploaded<br />
before submission.<br />
Information on the <strong>2012</strong> application process<br />

medical/intern/default.asp. <strong>The</strong> following<br />
information may be found in the ‘How to<br />
Apply’ section:<br />
Applicants register online <strong>and</strong> will be asked to<br />
enter their email address, which will become<br />
their username. <strong>The</strong>y will then be required<br />
to enter a password before successfully<br />
registering.<br />
Queensl<strong>and</strong> uses a slightly modified priority<br />
listing system, with applicants allocated a<br />
priority group from one to seven. For more<br />

Applicants preference all participating health<br />
facilities from one to fifteen. Applicants will<br />
be able to make on-line changes to their<br />
submitted preferences until the closing date.<br />
Throughout the process, applicants are able<br />
to view the number of positions offered as<br />
well as the number of graduates who have<br />
applied for positions <strong>and</strong> where. This allows<br />
interstate graduates to see how many people<br />
are ahead of them in the queue <strong>and</strong> adjust<br />
their preferences accordingly.<br />
In addition to personal details, applicants are<br />
also required to provide the following:<br />
• A brief statement, a career related<br />
experience question, <strong>and</strong> a question on<br />
your motivation to pursue an internship in<br />
Queensl<strong>and</strong>.<br />
• You have to provide two clinical references<br />
which are also used in the selection process.<br />
P2-7 applicants will be also required to fill out<br />
a referee report form, which will be emailed to<br />
you after completing the online application.<br />
A Curriculum Vitae (CV) is NOT required<br />
as part of the online application process.<br />
However, an individual health care facility may<br />
request you to provide your CV <strong>and</strong> additional<br />
information during their own merit selection<br />
process.<br />
Applicants will be subjected to a criminal<br />
history check through the Queensl<strong>and</strong> Police<br />
Service, <strong>and</strong> an internet search operated<br />
through Google.
