with two specialty rotations, allocated by<br />
mutual agreement<br />
• Shared accommodation available or $60<br />

• Two weeks leave during the clinical year <strong>and</strong><br />
three weeks at completion of intern year<br />
• Paired applications are accepted <strong>and</strong> every<br />
effort is made to accommodate paired annual<br />

Barwon Health is the largest Regional Health<br />
Service provider in Victoria. It offers an extensive<br />
range of general <strong>and</strong> specialist hospital,<br />
rehabilitation, residential <strong>and</strong> community services<br />
to over 93% of the Geelong community <strong>and</strong><br />
an increasing number of residents across the<br />
Barwon South-Western region. Barwon Health<br />
has a total of 1,000 beds (with more being<br />
added for 2013).<br />
<strong>The</strong>re is an active Board of Graduate Studies<br />
with a structured training program for HMO’s.<br />
<strong>The</strong>re are postgraduate gr<strong>and</strong> rounds, clinical<br />
meetings, lunchtime tutorials <strong>and</strong> a FRACP<br />
trainee lecture series. A fortnightly newsletter<br />
is published listing the postgraduate activities.<br />
Postgraduate Training Positions are also<br />
available. Furthermore, a variety of speakers<br />
both nationally <strong>and</strong> internationally renowed in<br />
their fields are invited to give a presentation on<br />
their work on Tuesdays with provision for interns<br />
<strong>and</strong> residents to attend.<br />

Barwon Health, is a fantastic place to start <strong>and</strong><br />
further a doctors career. It is one of Australia’s<br />

5-year Rural Generalist pathway being created<br />
