Alexander’s Empire covered most <strong>of</strong> the Parthian area. After the death <strong>of</strong> Alexander Taxila was<br />

taken over by Gondaphorus and the Indo-Parthian Kingdom was established.<br />

In 2010, Amir Mizroch in the Jerusalem Post referred to the theory that even Pashtuns in Afghanistan and<br />

Pakistan could be descending from the lost tribe <strong>of</strong> Efraim. Shahnaz Ali, a senior research fellow at the<br />

Indian National Institute <strong>of</strong> Immunohaematology in Mumbai, has started studying the blood samples that<br />

she collected from Afridi Pathans in Malihabad, in the Lucknow district in Uttar Pradesh, India, to check<br />

their putative Israelite origin.<br />

According to Pliny the Elder (Natural History VI. 112) the Parthian empire consisted <strong>of</strong> 18<br />

kingdoms, 11 <strong>of</strong> which were called the upper kingdoms (or satrapies), while 7 were called lower<br />

kingdoms, meaning that they were located on the plains <strong>of</strong> Mesopotamia. The centre <strong>of</strong> the lower<br />

Apollo. The sun deity Shamash was worshiped at Hatra and elsewhere, but the henotheism <strong>of</strong> the<br />

ancient Middle East was giving way to acceptance <strong>of</strong> Universalist religions (Gnosticism)….<br />
