believe electing him will be a good start. Then
you will not believe anything to the contrary
because there is no way to prove anything will
happen if we do any or all of that. And that is the
funny thing because Trump could put us into a
deeper depression then we have ever seen before.
Again could it be great, if it only helps some but
still horrible for many. So while my endorsement
is for Hillary and not necessarily these that contribute
or work for the magazine they are both
mine and Adrian’s as we are negotiating joint
ownership of the future of the DDG.
Again I don’t need to point out Hillary’s qualifications,
even Bernie agrees with me on that,
he just thinks he is better, and he should. No
one runs and says “I am not as good as the front
runner but I get credit for running right? Ok” he
does say that sometimes as he claims the deck is
stacked against him. And 45% of the nation’s vote
proves he was not silenced.
The reason this magazine makes an endorsement
for Hillary is because, no other candidate has
been there for us for all of the 21 years this magazine
has covered the gay community. There are
literally hundreds of pages of history supporting
Hillary. And while no one seriously argues that
Bernie is also a champion for gay rights that is
not our issue. The same history, we believe the
young are lacking, as they prance and preen on
Pride weekend without a though of our history.
I can tell you that it did not happen until a Pride
existed. But if you would like to know ask me
and I will drop my pants and show you a scare I
have from being stabbed and a gay pride and one
hundred other stories of people getting bashed
and arrested for their rights. Or the story I wrote
about Hurricane Katrina in 2005 how a man
watched them take his lover away without a good
by because he feared that his gayness would be
expose to the rescue workers as they were showed
a distinct deference to LGBT community, or just
a few years ago on a trip to Boston in old caddie
convertible turned ugly for us as we drove down
the wrong street.
You might also not notice that Hillary has been to
the top of the mountain, we blame her husband’s
administration that her use of the word “super
predators” AKA hardened or repeat offender,
launched a sea of racially motivated attacks on
black people, poor people or other minorities.
When the fact could be that perhaps we underestimated,
as we want to do to this day, the level of
racism and bigotry especially in our police force.
As gay people can say amen to anyone who needed
protection for gay assault. Perhaps only one
person alive today knows that bitter truth more
than anyone, and Hillary needs our vote next
week to help our nation heal.
Hillary knows this struggle and while our nations
once again, engage a tremendous legacy of fighting
human rights violations, a revolution even if
it could happen, will not address the inequality
felt by many of us in this nation.
If you fool America by pretending that racial
and other bias cannot be addressed, and use that
to ask us once again stand down and let this
revolution happen, you are no better than the
2008 GOP who claimed the economy was more
important right now than civil justice,. All you
are doing is undermining those that fight for
justice for the people. Justice after all is the only
true genesis for revolutions. And it fucking well
should be the only reason. When that notion
is lost on the other sides, we must fight harder
to make it an issue because it is always the only
issue.
