A Craft and Vendor show was held in the greenhouses at Ginder Greenhouse
and Garden Center on Saturday, September 17th. The event included specials
and giveaways. Ginder Greenhouse is located at 558 Lake Minsi Drive in

The Tim Roper Memorial
Scholarship Golf Tournament Results
Eighty golfers competed in the Tim Roper Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament
that was held at Sawmill Golf Course on September 10.
The foursome of Jay Petrella, Joe Volkert Mark Lysek and Charlie Waters won
the first flight with a score of 14 under par.
The winners of the second flight at 10 under were: Aaron Wilz, Tyler Wilz,
Matthew Knauss and Craig Knauss.
The third flight winners were Ron Ealey, Rob Ealey, Steve Pfeiffer and Allen
Ruch at 5 under par.
Longest drive winners were: Joe Calantoni for seniors, Robert Lawrie for men
and Alison Overdorf for women. Bill Huddy won closest to the pin for seniors
at 2 feet 10 inches. Grace Fornicola at 16 feet won for the women and Robert
Lawrie at 10 feet 7 inches won for the men.
The tournament is held each year to raise money in Tim’s memory to fund
a $3000 scholarship for a graduating Pen Argyl student. This year’s winning
student was Max Policelli, son of Leonard and Patricia Policelli. Max is majoring
in Plastics Engineering at the Penn State University. Max was an honor student
at Pen Argyl High School, a member of the Argyle chapter of the National Honor
Society, an Eagle Scout, a member of the principal’s 90% club and a member
of the Scholastic Scrimmage team. He was also involved in many community
volunteer activities including serving as a volunteer at the Blue Mountain Public
Library and Moravian Hall Square.
