Recovery Revolution “Lunch <strong>and</strong> Learn” Community Forums<br />

<strong>September</strong> is National Alcohol <strong>and</strong> Drug Recovery Month. On a local level,<br />

Recovery Revolution Inc. is excited to be supporting Recovery Month by welcoming<br />

all community members to our “Lunch <strong>and</strong> Learn” Community Forums.<br />

Recovery Revolution’s 9th annual “Lunch <strong>and</strong> Learn” Forums will be on Three<br />

Tuesdays in the Month of <strong>September</strong> at the Recovery Center Location called "A<br />

Clean Slate." Each forum will be held from 12pm-1pm <strong>and</strong> include a 15 minute<br />

“Ask a Professional” section at the end of each session. Lunch will be served<br />

<strong>and</strong> there is NO COST to any participants. <strong>The</strong>re will be free material <strong>and</strong> ferrals<br />

for additional resources. Attend one or attend them all. <strong>The</strong> series will be held<br />

at "A Clean Slate," (100 S. 1st Street/Across the street from Recovery Revolution<br />

main building) the new resource for Recovery in the Slate <strong>Belt</strong> Area. This<br />

Grace UMC Community Christmas Cantata<br />

Again this year Grace United Methodist Church in Pen Argyl will be hosting a<br />

Community Christmas Cantata. Practice for the Community Christmas Cantata<br />

Concert begin on Thursday, <strong>September</strong> 29th from 7:00 to 8:00pm in the<br />

Chapel. <strong>The</strong> concert will be held on December 11th at 3:00 pm. Anyone in the<br />

Bangor Womens Club GFWC to Hold Bake Sale<br />

<strong>The</strong> Bangor Womens Club GFWC will be holding a bake sale at Capitol Ace<br />

Hardware 438 Blue Valley Dr., (Rt 512) Bangor, PA Friday, <strong>September</strong> 30th <strong>and</strong><br />

Saturday, October 1st.<br />

Bath Fire Department – 1st Annual Basket Social & 50/50 Raffle<br />

Bath Fire Department will be hosting there 1st Annual Basket Social & 50/50<br />

Raffle; Saturday October 1st, 11:00am–8:00pm <strong>and</strong> Sunday October 2nd,<br />

10:00am–3:00pm; the Basket Social will be held at the Bath Social Hall 135<br />

Safety Saturday<br />

<strong>The</strong> Bangor Fire Department, Slate <strong>Belt</strong> Heritage Center <strong>and</strong> Slate <strong>Belt</strong> Area<br />

Fire Departments will hold “Safety Saturday” on Saturday, October 1st, from<br />

12:00pm-3:00pm (rain date, Oct. 8) at the Slate <strong>Belt</strong> Heritage Center, 30<br />

North 1st Street, Bangor, PA. <strong>The</strong> event is being held to kickoff “Fire Prevention<br />

Month”. Learn about fire safety, play games <strong>and</strong> take a tour of the Heritage<br />

Center. Kids will have the opportunity to see the Pen Argyl Fire Dept. “House<br />

Fire Simulator” <strong>and</strong> East Bangor’s “Brush Truck <strong>and</strong> ATV. All proceeds from the<br />

event will benefit the restoration <strong>and</strong> preservation of the antique 1922 American<br />

LaFrance Brockway Fire Truck which will be on display along with the fireman’s<br />

<strong>The</strong> Memorial Library of Nazareth <strong>and</strong> Vicinity<br />

<strong>The</strong> Memorial Library of Nazareth <strong>and</strong> Vicinity is selling tickets to its annual<br />

"Touch a Truck" fundraiser. Ticket sales will run thru Oct. 4th at the Memorial<br />

Library of Nazareth & Vicinity, 295 E. Center St., Nazareth. Those who buy a<br />

ticket will be entered into a raffle to win a gift basket -- one entry for each ticket<br />

purchased. "Touch a Truck" will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 11th rain or<br />

shine at Tuskes Community Park in Upper Nazareth Township. <strong>The</strong> fundraiser<br />

gives adults <strong>and</strong> children the opportunity to touch, climb on <strong>and</strong> take pictures<br />

alongside diggers, dumpers, limousines <strong>and</strong> rescue vehicles. See ad page 5.<br />

Bangor High School Class of 1966 Reunion<br />

<strong>The</strong> Bangor High School Class of 1966 will hold their 50th Reunion on Saturday<br />

October 8th, <strong>2016</strong> at the Delaware Water Gap Country Club (Wolf Hollow). Cocktails<br />

<strong>and</strong> Class Picture will be at 6:00pm with Buffet Dinner to follow @ 7:00 PM. <strong>The</strong><br />

night before, on October 7th, the class will attend the Bangor High School football<br />

game <strong>and</strong> sit as a group. <strong>The</strong>y will then have a get together at Liberty Fire Hall after<br />

the game. In honor of this being the 50th Reunion, the class will be the guests at<br />

this years Bangor High School Graduation <strong>and</strong> will sit as a group. Time <strong>and</strong> definite<br />

date still to be determined. <strong>The</strong> class is seeking a current address for the following<br />
