Kate Moretti – The Vanishing Game
By Kerri Tollinger
A funny thing happened on Facebook. I entered
a contest and won The Vanishing Year by Kate
Moretti. I was instructed to give my name and
address for the author to mail me my book. When
she replied that we were “neighbors”, I knew that
I wanted to let all my other “neighbors” in the
area know about this New York Times Best Selling
Author who was living in our backyard.
Moretti grew up in Martins Creek, which is the
setting for her character’s getaway home in her
newest novel The Vanishing Year, which is due to
be released on September 27th, 2016. Little clues
here and there capture the charm of the little town nestled on Route 611.
Moretti started her writing career while she was on maternity leave in 2010.
She claims to have had the most perfect baby who did nothing but sleep and
she was bored. No, this is not part of her fiction. Moretti said she always wanted
to write, and made a goal to just finish her book. She did, and had it published.
Thought I Knew You made it onto Bookbub.com and screamed to #2 on the
Amazon book list, and then eventually made it onto the New York Times Best
Sellers list.
Moretti’s books include: Thought I Knew You (2012), Binds That Tie (2014),
While You Were Gone (2015) and The Vanishing Year (2016). The Vanishing Year
is a suspenseful novel that is set in New York City centered on a woman with
a sketchy past who is living a dream life, or is she? The Vanishing Year can be
found at Moravian Book Store, Barnes and Noble and Amazon on September
27th, 2016. A Release Party is planned at Moravian Book Store on October
7th, 2016. Pre ordering books would be the best idea, to insure that there are
enough books. More information is available at Moretti’s Facebook site: Kate
Moretti – Author, and on her website, www.katemoretti.com.
