SERIES NOTES<br />

With a 5-4 overtime victory in Game 7, the Wild became the first team in NHL history to record four score-tying goals in a Game 7 (Elias Sports Bureau). Nino Niederreiter<br />

scored two goals, including the winner 5:02 into overtime, and added an assist in Game 7 – the fourth-youngest player to ever net a total three points in a Game 7. Zach<br />

Parise led the Wild with 10 points (3-7=10) against the Avalanche, a career high for points in a series. He set a playoff career high and a Wild playoff single-game record<br />

with four points (2-2=4) in Game 6. Parise also set a franchise record for fastest goal to start a playoff game, scoring 49 seconds into Game 6 and tallied the game<br />

winner. Before being held pointless in Game 7, he had a career-best six-game playoff point streak. Darcy Kuemper went 3-1 in five starts posting a 2.03 GAA and a .913<br />

SV%. Ilya Bryzgalov went 1-2 in two starts with a 3.72 GAA and a 4.25 GAA. Bryzgalov earned the Game 7 win by stopping the only shot he faced (in overtime) in relief<br />

of Kuemper, who left the game with 8:13 left in regulation. Kuemper stopped all 22 shots in Game 3 to become the first Wild goalie to record a playoff shutout. Mikael<br />

Granlund earned his first career playoff point by scoring the overtime winner in Game 3, becoming only the fifth NHL player in the last 75 years to score his first career<br />

playoff goal in a 1–0 overtime game. Nathan MacKinnon (2-8=10) and Paul Stastny (5-5=10) led the Avalanche in scoring with 10 points each. Semyon Varlamov posted<br />

a 2.78 GAA and a .913 SV% in seven starts. The Wild outshot the Avalanche 233-174 and outhit Colorado 194-188 in the series.<br />

Minnesota advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2003, but for the second straight year the team’s season ended with a loss<br />

to the Blackhawks in the playoffs when Patrick Kane scored at 9:42 of overtime in Game 6. The loss was the first at home during the 2014 playoffs for the Wild. Erik<br />

Haula led Minnesota with three goals and five points against Chicago. Mikael Granlund registered two goals for the Wild. Ilya Bryzgalov posted a 2.13 GAA, a .904 SV%<br />

and one shutout in six starts. Marian Hossa led the Blackhawks in scoring with nine points (1-8=9). Bryan Bickell recorded a team-best four goals and ranked second<br />

in scoring with six points (4-2=6). Corey Crawford registered a 1.97 GAA and a .926 SV% in six starts. Minnesota set a franchise record with 48 hits in Game 5 at<br />

Chicago and outhit the Blackhawks 181-105 in the series.<br />
