• Has played in eight international tournaments for Switzerland and played for Team

• Led Switzerland with five goals and ranked T-2nd in scoring with eight points at 2013 World Championship,
helping the Swiss earn a silver medal – its first World Championship medal in 60 years. Also played in 2012 and
2010 World Championships.
• Played in 2011 and 2010 World Junior Championships. Served as team captain in 2011 and led the 2010 team
with 10 points (6-4=10) in seven games to earn a spot on the tournament All-Star Team.
• Tied for team lead with six points (3-3=6) in six games at 2009 Under-18 World Championship.
• Highest-drafted Swiss player in NHL history.
CAREER TRANSACTIONS
• Acquired by Minnesota from the New York Islanders in exchange for Cal Clutterbuck and a 2013 third-round
selection (Eamon McAdam), June 30, 2013; Selected by the New York Islanders in the first round (fifth overall)
of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
• Signed through 2016-17 season. Becomes a restricted free agent 2017-18.
PERSONAL
• Charitable interests include the Special Olympics.
• Enjoys watching tennis, including Switzerland’s star players, and attended the French Open and Wimbledon in
2015, where he met Roger Federer for the first time.
• Like any good Swiss native, chocolate is his favorite candy.
• The Wild’s inaugural season (2000-01) was 16 years ago: He first drove an Audi A8.
