• Selected by Minnesota in the seventh round (182nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

PERSONAL
• Charitable interests include the Hockey Dreams Foundation and working at youth hockey camps in the offseason.
• His father, Tomi, played and coached semiprofessional (American) football in Finland.
• Began playing golf at age 10 and still actively plays as one of his favorite hobbies.
