Search<br />

You can search for names you have stored in One-Touch and<br />

Speed-Dial memories. (See Storing One-Touch Dial numbers on<br />

page 7-1 and Storing Speed-Dial numbers on page 7-2.)<br />

1 Pick up the handset.<br />

2 Press Search/Speed Dial, then enter the first letter of the<br />

name you are looking for by using the dial pad.<br />

3 Press or to search the names that are displayed<br />

alphabetically.<br />

4 When the screen displays the name you want to call, press<br />

Fax Start to begin dialing.<br />

5 To hang up, replace the handset.<br />

Pause<br />

Press Redial/Pause to insert a 3.5-second pause between<br />

numbers. If you are dialing overseas, you can press Redial/Pause<br />

as many times as needed to increase the length of the pause.<br />

Hold<br />

1 Press Hold/Caller ID to put a call on Hold.<br />

2 You can replace the handset without disconnecting the call.<br />

3 Pick up the fax machine’s handset to release the call from<br />

Hold. Picking up an extension handset will not release the call<br />

from Hold.<br />

Redial (Telephone)<br />

If you are calling someone and the line is busy, you can retry the<br />

number by pressing Redial/Pause.<br />

1 Pick up the handset.<br />

2 Press Redial/Pause.<br />

3 To hang up, replace the handset.<br />

Redial (Fax)<br />

If you’re sending a fax manually and the line is busy, press<br />

Redial/Pause to try again. Any time you want to make a second<br />

call to the last number dialed, press Redial/Pause to save time.<br />

If you’re sending a fax automatically and the line is busy, the fax<br />

machine will automatically redial one time at five minutes intervals<br />

after the transmission.<br />

Tone or Pulse (Canada only)<br />

If you have a Pulse dialing service, but need to send Tone signals<br />

(for example, for telephone banking), follow the instructions below.<br />

If you have Touch Tone service, you will not need this feature to<br />

send tone signals.<br />

1 Pick up the handset.<br />

2 Press #. Any digits dialed after this will send tone signals.<br />

3 When you hang up, the fax machine will return to the Pulse<br />

dialing service.<br />
