Leicestershire County<br />
Show Returns!<br />
After an absence of more than 10<br />
years, Leicestershire County Show<br />
came back at August Bank Holiday<br />
with great success.<br />
A range of attractions over the day,<br />
including cattle, sheep and equine sections<br />
saw more than 12,000 visitors attend<br />
the permanent new showground on the<br />
outskirts of Market Harborough.<br />
here were no ualifiers at this years show<br />
as the Organisers commented “we just<br />
wanted to get the first year underway and<br />
take it from there”.<br />
The day ran really well, with no major<br />
hiccups other than few ring changes<br />
but then the heavens opened and it was<br />
decided to bring a halt, for health and safety<br />
reasons, to the remainder of the classes. A<br />
few sections had completed and Champions<br />
and Reserves placed. The Pony and In Hand<br />
Supremes were also able to go ahead but not<br />
the Horse Supreme at the end of the day.<br />
Given the torrential rain that followed for a<br />
long time, a good call made by the Equine<br />
team!<br />
Due to the feedback, Leicestershire County<br />
Show is to return in 2017 as a two-day show,<br />
held on 26th and 27th August at the same<br />
venue. or euine copetitors, affiliations<br />
are being confired and ualifiers will be<br />
available.<br />
The Organisers would like to thank all the<br />
Committee, helpers, Sponsors, Judges and<br />
Stewards for this year’s show, without which<br />
it would not be able to go ahead and look<br />
forward to welcoming everyone back in<br />
2017.<br />
