off in amazing style taking the<br />

classes 42 Amateur Riders<br />

were battling it out in the TSR<br />

Master Class Ride Off for four<br />

places at HOYS in the TSR<br />

Showing Master Class to be<br />

held at Horse of the Year Show<br />

on Friday 7th October. The 42<br />

riders had been talent spotted<br />

previously in the year at a TSR<br />

Clinic and then applied for<br />

selection from over 150 talent<br />

spotted riders for the Ride<br />

Off. L is for Lucky and that<br />

certainly proved the case for<br />

the four riders whose names<br />

all begin with L. Selectors Jo<br />

Bates, Lucinda Simms and Anne<br />

Leaver had a busy morning as<br />

16th - 17th JULY<br />

each rider performed an<br />

individual performance to<br />

include set movements and<br />

were judged on their riding<br />

ability and horses performance.<br />

Winner of the 8-14 years<br />

group was Lara Kelly who had<br />

travelled all the way from<br />

Northern Ireland to take part on<br />

her WHP Milford Spectacular.<br />

Lara Berrie from Ayrshire was<br />

back for her second attempt<br />

after being placed Reserve<br />

in 2015, this time she was<br />

victorious on her part bred<br />

show pony Morringtoncairn<br />

Hivan in the 15yrs to 26 yrs<br />

age group. Laura King from<br />

Yorkshire riding her cob Tom<br />

Tug won the 27 - 39 yrs group,<br />

Laura had competed in the Ride<br />

Off in 2014 on another horse so<br />

was delighted to be back. Louise<br />

Goss from Northamptonshire<br />

who was talent spotted three<br />

years ago and finally selected<br />

for the Ride Off this year had<br />

all her patience and effort<br />

rewarded winning the 40yrs<br />

plus group on her ex racehorse<br />

Ravenstone Lad, this is the first<br />

ex racehorse through to the<br />

final.<br />
