And the saga continues! I found
another Boxster that was a
couple years newer with all the
extras I was looking for. Wow, could this
really be true? It’s seal grey with a metropole
blue interior and top. Heated sport seats and
a complete aero kit, and a 3.6 conversion.
Four days after taking delivery I was driving
it into work knowing everyone would be keeping an eye out
for the new car. With all eyes on me, well maybe the car, as
I backed into my shady premier parking spot, I lose power as
white smoke billows out from behind me. “Great, what is it this
time?!!” As I’m getting out, a friend points out the water on
the ground and as I smell the liquid I realize it isn’t water but
gasoline. Poof, I hear the sound of the ignition and I start yelling
for a fire extinguisher... “NO REALLY, GET IT NOW!” As I
douse the flame, I come to the realization of how blessed I am.
Just think if it would have happened on the road side or even
worse, in my garage, I could have lost everything. Instead, it
happened next to my place of business with everyone watching
and a fire extinguisher being produced within seconds...WOW!
As I stated last month, enjoy every minute while driving your
Porsche, one never knows when it will be your last.
