Bryan Bell, Vice President
Mike is out having fun in the
world this month so I said I
would fill in with a few words
to everyone about the region. October
is always a great month with PCA &
Maverick Region. It is cooler outside after
the long hot summer which seems to last
from May to the end of September. The
leaves are turning great colors and things are everywhere
to do with our cars. Just in the month of October we have:
2 Time Trials, 2 Autocrosses, a Driver’s Education at MSR,
a Sunday Drive to see the leaves turning, a swap meet, 2
lunches, a Board meeting and a happy hour. Not to mention
the Club Race up at Hallett. To do them all, I may need
to quit my job! What better way than a Porsche and good
Porsche friends, to spend your October 2010. I can’t wait to
see you at an event soon and hear your stories.
Mav of the Month
Our Mav of the Month is Travis Howard. Travis has been
the Time Trial chair for two years now and that’s no small
job with eight TT’s - two of which are at MSR. Plus, he
has just taken on the job of Grid Control at our DE’s. This
is not an easy job to step into after Jan Mayo had this job
for about 10 years. Travis has a passion for Porsches, but
a bigger passion for helping others.
For being the Maverick of the Month, The Silver Fox in
Grapevine is giving Travis dinner for two at their award
winning steak house.
Travis, thanks for all you do.
