Hot summer nights! I have had
enough of the hot weather, but
thank goodness the AC in my
home, work, and present Porsche are
working. The AC in my first Porsche, a
1985 Targa, was not built to keep up with
Texas heat, as some of you can relate to!
By the time you read this, we will have
driven to Savannah, Georgia, for the Porsche Parade. It is
always a great event with some surprises that you will hear
about in an upcoming issue of Slipstream. Once again,
thank goodness the AC works!
GREAT RESPONSE! Our emailed survey had an
unbelievable response rate, which once again proves how
much each of you really care for and care about your
Maverick Region Porsche Club. Madhu (our club secretary)
is busy tabulating the results, which will be published in the
September issue of Slipstream as promised. It was extremely
rewarding to get all that feedback and all those suggestions,
proving once again, “If you want to know how to improve,
all you have to do is ask!” By the way, on our Maverick
Region website (mav.pca.org), there is a suggestion box
that you can access ANYTIME. Those suggestions come
directly to me, so please don’t hesitate
to send one in when one comes to
mind. ALSO, if you did NOT receive
an email about the survey, please let
me know (president@mavpca.org) so
I can make sure we have your correct
email in the system.
Upcoming Events:
August is a light month for events,
since many of us will be at Parade
and not be back home until the 8th or
9th. However, we do have our monthly
Happy Hour at Mac’s Grill at 5120
Highway 121, Colleyville, Texas, on
Thursday, August 18th, so come on
out and remember to bring your report,
“What I did on my summer vacation.”
September is “back to busy” with
Boxstoberfest in Fredericksburg on the
9th, 10th and 11th (open to ALL cars,
not just Boxsters). For information
and registration go to www.boxstoberfest.com (don’t forget
the “s” after the “x” in boxstoberfest). We’ve been and it’s
a GREAT time! Then, we also have a Time Trial on the
10th and Autocross on the 11th, both are in Mineral Wells.
PLUS, we have Driver’s Education (DE) at Motorsport
Savannah, here we come!
Ranch on the 24th-25th. These have been selling out early
all year, so please get online and sign up EARLY.
Speaking of Calendars, I know that Slipstream does not
arrive in our mailboxes until the month is partway gone.

activities??? Go to our website

“Events” tab. Our yearlong
calendar is there, which is what
we use to list the events in
Slipstream! See an event on that
calendar in which you might be
interested? Just click on it! The
details are right there.
Mav of the Month:
This month we honor one
of our unsung Autocross and
Time Trial volunteers, Michael
Pelletier! Michael continues to
serve as our AX/TT Registrar,
making sure that everyone gets
signed up and informed about
each of those events. Michael’s
work doesn’t stop there. When
needed, he jumps in with both
feet to make sure the rest of each
event runs smoothly for our members!
So, for all you do, we honor you as our Mav of the Month,
and reward you with a gift card to the Silver Fox!
