We then took some time to look over each others’
cars and place our votes for the first annual “Concours
d’Non Elegance.” We had a wonderful mix of
vehicles on hand, from classic SCs to late model GT3s.
James Weber won the Concours as well, taking the
People’s Choice Award with his Guards Red Turbo,
complete with carbon ceramic disk brakes. His prize
was a $150 detailing from Stuart’s Paint & Body. Second
place went to Alan Lage with his silver GT3.
The lunch, catered by Hutchins BBQ,
was a hit with the participants.

Following the car show, we all sat down and enjoyed a
very fitting barbecue lunch catered by Hutchins BBQ in
McKinney. Bobbie and Frank Briggs were the big door
prize winners, with two tickets to the Dallas Arboretum,
donated by the Fahrentholds.
The first ever Maverick Region Cars and Cattle: Poker
Rally and Concours d’ Non Elegance went over with great
success. We want to thank the Fahrentholds for hosting
the event. We hope to make next year’s edition an even
better one yet.
